Moose-Involved Crash in Oakham Leaves Two Injured
OAKHAM, Mass. — A serious collision involving a moose occurred on Route 122 (Worcester Road) Wednesday night, resulting in two injuries.
The incident happened between 10 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. According to the Oakham Fire Department, the driver sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries, while the passenger suffered minor injuries. Both individuals were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Fire Chief Timothy Howe noted this type of accident is not uncommon in the area, with a moose collision occurring every couple of years. The moose involved did not survive the crash.
Authorities are conducting an investigation into the incident.
