DULUTH – A motorcyclist sustained significant injuries following a collision with a vehicle Friday afternoon on Maple Grove Road.
The crash occurred around 2:15 p.m. at the intersection of Maple Grove Road and Burning Tree Road. According to the Duluth Police Department, a vehicle traveling east on Maple Grove Road attempted a left turn onto Burning Tree Road during a yellow arrow.
A motorcycle was reportedly traveling west on Maple Grove Road at a high rate of speed when it collided with the turning vehicle. The force of the impact ejected the motorcyclist into a nearby fence. Emergency responders transported the injured motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet at the time, to a local hospital via Mayo Clinic Ambulance.
The Duluth Police Department is currently investigating the crash. Lane closures were implemented during the response and investigation. Further details will be released as they become available.
