Hermitage High School Student Killed in Tuesday Evening Car Crash.

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. — A crash in Henrico County on September 19, 2023, killed a 14-year-old student and injured two others, according to Henrico Police.

The incident occurred just before 6 p.m. at the intersection of Olde West and Kilcolman Drives. The three teenagers, all from Hermitage High School, were traveling in a car that was reportedly when the driver lost control.

Upon leaving the roadway, the car struck two dogs on the sidewalk, resulting in their deaths. The dogs' owner, who was walking them at the time, sustained no injuries. The vehicle continued before crashing into a tree and a parked car.

The car, belonging to the family of one of the passengers, was not reported stolen. All three occupants were transported to the hospital, where one later died from injuries. The remaining two students are receiving treatment for non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.

Henrico County Public Schools announced that counselors and resources will be available at Hermitage High School for students and staff during this difficult time.
