VILLA HILLS, Ky. — A July 3 southbound crash on I-71/75 near Villa Hills left one driver dead, authorities said.

According to the Kenton County Police Department, Stacy Wick, 47, of Verona, drove onto the right emergency shoulder and struck a parked tractor-trailer.

Authorities said the semi, operated by AG Expedited Inc. and driven by a 28-year-old Florida man, was stationary and out of the travel lanes due to mechanical issues.

Wick was at the scene. A front-seat passenger was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and is listed in stable condition, police said.

Kenton County Police were assisted by the Villa Hills Police Department, Independence Police Department, Erlanger Police Department, Fort Mitchell Police Department, Villa Hills-Crescent Springs Fire Department, and the Kenton County Coroner.
