A semitruck driver died after a fiery crash on I-71 northbound near the Lytle Tunnel in downtown Cincinnati around 7 p.m. May 3, 2026.
Authorities said the truck's cab and trailer became engulfed in flames, and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the Ohio Department of Transportation, heavy smoke and significant traffic backups were reported on I-71 in the downtown corridor.
Emergency crews responded to the scene near Fort Washington Way. No additional details, including the driver's identity, were immediately released.
Authorities said the cause of the crash has not been determined.
