MARSHALL CO., OK – An 18-year-old Murray State College wrestling team member, Jayden McCain, was killed in a crash on Tuesday.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the incident occurred on US-377 in Marshall County around 2:41 p.m. OHP reported that McCain veered off the highway, striking a tree.
Authorities confirmed that McCain, a freshman from Madill, died at the scene. Emergency responders pronounced him deceased upon arrival.
Murray State College issued a statement expressing their condolences: “This is a heartbreaking day for Aggie Nation. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family, the wrestling team and all who were a part of his life.”
An investigation into the crash is ongoing. No additional details on lane closures or roadway conditions have been released.
