PENDLETON, Ind. (WISH) — Three individuals were killed in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon on South State Road 67 near Pendleton, according to the Madison County Sheriff's Department.
Authorities reported that the crash occurred at 3:43 p.m. when a black 2011 Nissan Titan traveling north struck a 2018 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon head-on. Preliminary investigations indicate the Nissan crossed into the southbound lane before the collision.
The driver of the Nissan, 62-year-old Timmy J. Davis, and his passenger, 64-year-old Debra L. Davis, both of Buford, Georgia, died at the scene. The couple was married.
The driver of the Jeep, 41-year-old Carlos Caudill from Pendleton, was transported to Ascension St. Vincent Anderson Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Emergency crews responded to the scene, and the road was closed for the investigation. The investigation is ongoing.
