LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — One person is dead and another is critically injured following a late-night crash involving a semi on Newtown Pike at I-75.
According to the Lexington Police Department, the incident occurred Wednesday night when a semi traveling outbound on Newtown Pike collided with a vehicle entering the roadway near I-75.
One occupant of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, while another was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the semi was unhurt.
Authorities confirmed that the roadway has since reopened. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
