Ward Woman Killed and Man Injured in Sumter County Crash.

A two-vehicle crash in Sumter County, Alabama, on June 28 resulted in one fatality and one injury.

Iesha L. Pritchett, 34, of Ward, died from her injuries after the 2002 Century she was driving collided with a 2023 Kicks operated by Rolandus S. Ward, 34, also of Ward.

The incident occurred around 7:29 a.m. on Alabama 17 near Sumter County 42, approximately 11 miles south of York. After the impact, the left the roadway and overturned.

Pritchett was to DCH Regional Medical Center, where she was . Authorities reported that she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Ward sustained injuries and was transported to Ochsner Rush Medical Center in Meridian, Mississippi, for treatment.

Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency's Highway Patrol are investigating the crash. Further details were not provided.
