CAMBRIDGE, MA — A duck boat rolled over at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Charles River boat ramp, resulting in 11 injuries.

Authorities reported the incident occurred at the entrance of Museum Way, involving a single duck boat with 32 passengers on board. Emergency responders from the Massachusetts State Police and local fire crews quickly arrived and confirmed that everyone was accounted for.

Among the injured, 11 individuals were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment. The severity of their injuries has not been disclosed.

Witnesses described chaos as the boat began to roll. Abigail Blount, a passenger, noted that the boat lost power before it tipped over. “I remember looking at the narrator, and there was just fear in his eyes,” she said, recalling the panic among passengers.

Another witness, Abbey Conrad, explained how her duck boat was assisting the overturned vessel when the towing line snapped. “We just hear a snap… the boat that we were towing rushed backward,” she reported.

Post-incident, emergency personnel focused on assisting those trapped inside the overturned duck boat. Blount remembered people screaming and clinging to their family members during the incident.

While the investigation is ongoing, Boston Mayor Michelle Wu stated on Monday that she is awaiting findings that will clarify the nature of the incident. Boston Duck Tours declined to comment due to the investigation.

Massachusetts State Police have not provided any updates as of Monday regarding the investigation's status.
