BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. — An 85-year-old woman died following a car accident on Friday afternoon.
According to the Boynton Beach Police Department, at approximately 3 p.m., Jeanne Sokolowski Parzygnat was driving a Toyota Camry eastbound on West Woolbright Road, preparing to turn left onto Southwest 18th Street. Investigators reported that she failed to yield to a westbound Toyota RAV4, which then collided with her vehicle on the right side.
The impact caused Parzygnat's Camry to veer over a curb and onto the sidewalk before striking a utility pole. The RAV4 also hit a curb, resulting in a fire at the front of the vehicle, though its driver sustained no injuries.
Emergency responders extracted Parzygnat from her vehicle and transported her to Delray Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead. The incident is under investigation, and no further details regarding lane closures or tows have been reported at this time.
