Fatal crash in Boynton Beach claims life of 85-year-old woman.

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. — An 85-year-old woman died following a accident on Friday afternoon.

According to the Boynton Beach Police Department, at approximately 3 p.m., Jeanne Sokolowski Parzygnat was driving a Toyota Camry eastbound on West Woolbright Road, preparing to turn left onto Southwest 18th Street. Investigators reported that she failed to yield to a westbound Toyota RAV4, which then collided with her vehicle on the right side.

The impact caused Parzygnat's Camry to veer over a curb and onto the sidewalk before striking a utility pole. The RAV4 also hit a curb, resulting in a fire at the front of the vehicle, though its driver sustained no injuries.

Emergency responders extracted Parzygnat from her vehicle and transported her to Delray Medical Center, where she was . The incident is under investigation, and no further details regarding lane closures or tows have been reported at this time.
