Pilot and instructor killed in plane crash near Centennial Airport.

CENTENNIAL, Colo. — A small plane crash during a training flight near Centennial Airport on Sept. 5 resulted in the deaths of two individuals.

According to the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), the Beech P35 aircraft was piloted by 52-year-old Perry “Matt” Feeney from Arvada and flight instructor Lee “Rob” Hill, 64, from Greenwood Village. The plane crashed into a paved driveway of an industrial facility approximately one mile southeast of the airport around 6:20 a.m.

Authorities said that after executing a stop-and-go landing, the aircraft began to descend. Witnesses reported hearing the engine stop and observed the plane flying unusually low with a hard left bank before the impact. Surveillance footage showed the plane descending in a left bank before banking right just before crashing.

The wreckage indicated severe damage, with the engine pushed into the cockpit. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Emergency response teams arrived at the scene, but unfortunately, both occupants were pronounced deceased. The investigation is ongoing.
