Hit-and-Run Crash at Water Plant Disrupts Service for Residents.

HOBE SOUND, Fla. — A driver crashed into a large pipe at the Hobe Sound/Osprey Water Plant around 9 p.m. and fled the scene, impacting water service for residents, according to the Martin County Sheriff's Office (MCSO).

Authorities reported that the collision left many without water service or adequate water pressure. A witness described hearing a loud crash and saw a man at the site shortly after the incident.

The witness stated the individual said, “I messed up,” before fleeing. MCSO is searching for a Hispanic male in his 20s, identified by a neck tattoo and wearing a white tank top.

The duration of the water service interruption remains unclear. MCSO urges anyone with information about the suspect to contact their office.
