Rehoboth Beach, DE (October 3, 2023) — A woman was killed while riding an e-bike on Coastal Highway on Monday evening.
Authorities said the incident occurred around 6:15 p.m. near the intersection of Route 1 and Adams Avenue. Preliminary investigations indicate a car struck the woman, though details on the vehicle involved were not immediately available.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene to provide medical assistance, but the woman, whose age has not yet been released, was pronounced dead shortly after. The driver remained on-site and is cooperating with investigators.
Authorities temporarily closed the northbound lanes of Coastal Highway while they conducted their investigation. The Delaware State Police are leading the inquiry into the accident.
