Fatal Crash on Route 141 Claims Life of 26-Year-Old Man

A 26-year-old man died in a high-speed crash on Route 141 near Alapocas Drive in Wilmington shortly after 10:15 p.m. on April 23.

Delaware State Police reported that the man was driving a Charger at speeds exceeding 120 mph when he collided with a Saturn sedan operated by a 27-year-old driver. According to authorities, the crash caused the Saturn to spin into a guardrail, while the Charger veered into the northbound lanes and struck a tree.

The driver of the was from the vehicle and at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. The driver of the Saturn did not sustain injuries.

Authorities are in the process of notifying the victim's family and will release his identity once that is complete. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
