SANDUSKY, Ohio — Two minors were injured in a crash just before 2 p.m. Saturday on State Route 113 in Erie County, authorities said.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol Sandusky Post, a 10-year-old was driving an all-terrain vehicle with a 13-year-old passenger on a private road before entering the highway, where a RAV4 struck the ATV.

The ATV caught fire. The RAV4 veered off the roadway, overturned and hit a utility pole, authorities said.

Both children were taken to Fisher-Titus Medical Center; the 13-year-old's injuries required an airlift to UH Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital.

Authorities identified the RAV4 driver as Martin Klenk of Berlin Heights. Officials did not say whether he was transported.

The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Information on tows and lane closures was not immediately available.
