Tow truck driver killed in work-related incident on I-275 in Taylor Mill

Taylor Mill, Ky. — A tow truck driver died June 20 on I-275 east near Taylor Mill Road during a work-related incident, authorities said.

Kenton County Police identified the victim as Randall “Randy” Kuntsman, 65, of Independence.

Kuntsman was loading a vehicle from a previous crash around 9:20 a.m. June 20 when the tow truck began to roll downhill, according to Kenton County Police.

The incident occurred just east of the Taylor Mill Road on- and off-ramps, the Kenton County Emergency Communication Center told The Enquirer.

All eastbound lanes from Taylor Mill Road to Licking Pike were closed and reopened by 12 p.m. ET, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet's live traffic map.

The scene was initially reported as a crash but was later determined to be a work-related incident, according to Fox19.
