Crash Closes Westbound Lanes of I-84 Near Portland on June 20

A crash on June 20 has closed the westbound lanes of Interstate 84 near Rooster Rock State Park, according to the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office.

A struck a disabled on the highway shoulder, resulting in serious injuries to one individual. Following this collision, a second vehicle hit a patrol on the scene; however, no deputies were injured.

The incident took place around 8:30 a.m. near milepost 24, approximately 2 miles east of Corbett. The Oregon Department of Transportation advises motorists to divert through State Route 14 on the Washington side of the Columbia River.

A LifeFlight helicopter was dispatched to transport the injured individual to a hospital. Delays on the highway are expected to last several hours.

The crash has also impacted the shoulder and median areas, according to TripCheck.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident.
