Driver injured in rollover crash; alcohol suspected as factor.

GLADWIN COUNTY, Mich. (WPBN/WGTU) — A 51-year-old man from Butman Township sustained injuries in a crash on Sugar River Road at approximately 7:10 p.m. on Sunday.

According to the Gladwin County Sheriff's Office, the man was driving a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado eastbound when he lost control of the vehicle near the intersection of North Hockaday Road. The pickup truck veered off the south side of the road, striking a stop sign before re-entering the roadway.

The vehicle continued for about a quarter mile before leaving the road again, rolling over several times, and ultimately coming to rest facing west in the eastbound lane.

The driver was transported to MyMichigan Medical Center-West Branch for treatment of his injuries. Authorities indicated that alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash. The driver's name is being withheld pending toxicology results and potential criminal charges.

The incident is under investigation, and the case will be reviewed by the Gladwin County Prosecutor's Office.
