Lede: A 5-year-old aspiring police officer engaged with local law enforcement while navigating traffic disruptions in Lavallette on Saturday.

Monty Greninger, who has befriended two officers in Lavallette, displayed a keen interest in law enforcement. Amidst local summer activities, traffic congestion remains a concern.

At approximately 2:42 p.m., a crash on the Garden State Parkway blocked two northbound lanes just south of Exit 89A, according to 511nj.org. This incident resulted in a 16-mile backup, with motorists facing delays of nearly one hour, extending from Exit 82 to Exit 98 as of 3:30 p.m.

Travelers heading to the Sea Hear Now festival in Asbury Park can also expect slow conditions, as several streets in the area are closed. Ocean Avenue is restricted between 7th and 4th Avenues, 5th Avenue is closed between Ocean Avenue and Kingsley Street, and Webb Street is shut down between Sunset Avenue and 5th Avenue.

These closures are set to re-open on Monday, September 15, at 6 p.m., according to local authorities. Emergency services were on the scene to manage the situation and assist affected motorists.
