Causeway Bridge Reopens After Crash
The northbound span of the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway reopened at 2:10 p.m. following a crash earlier today.
According to authorities, the span was closed at 12:41 p.m. due to the incident, which occurred near the bridge's 3-mile mark. Causeway General Manager Carlton Dufrechou confirmed that three people sustained injuries, although the severity of those injuries remains unclear.
As of 1:45 p.m., emergency teams were actively removing vehicles from the scene. The Causeway's management sent out notifications to inform drivers about the closure and subsequent reopening. Further details regarding towing and investigation efforts are pending.
