A woman died and a man was arrested following a crash involving two personal watercraft at Lake Perry, Jefferson County, on June 14.
Hannah Heflin, 22, of Olathe, was pronounced dead at the scene after the incident, which occurred around 6 p.m., according to Jefferson County Sheriff Timothy Bacon.
Carter Page, 20, was arrested for vehicular homicide by the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks, Bacon reported.
Page was booked into Jefferson County Jail in Oskaloosa at 10:26 p.m. June 14 and released at 12:21 a.m. after posting a $5,000 bond, as confirmed by jail records.
As of now, there are no formal charges filed against Page.
GoFundMe Established to Assist Family
Heflin, a recent psychology graduate from Kansas State University, has a GoFundMe page set up by her family to raise $18,000 for funeral and legal expenses.
As of 5 p.m. June 15, the campaign has raised $3,395.
