Authorities reported the private aircraft, operated by Skydive Kansas City, was transporting a pilot and 11 passengers when it crashed around 2:41 p.m. in a field, resulting in a fire that engulfed the plane. Eyewitnesses, including family members who were present at the airport, confirmed they witnessed the crash.

Skydive Kansas City issued a statement expressing their shock and grief, stating, “This is a devastating loss for everyone connected to Skydive Kansas City and for the wider skydiving community.” The company extended its condolences to the families of those lost.
