Small Missouri City Mourns After Fatal Crash Involving Skydivers
A tragic accident occurred on Saturday, October 14, 2023, in Jefferson City, Missouri, involving three vehicles and multiple skydivers.
Authorities reported that the crash happened around 3:15 p.m. on Highway 63 southbound, near the Jefferson City Airport. A van transporting skydivers collided with a pickup truck and a sedan, resulting in the deaths of two skydivers, ages 24 and 30. Additionally, three other individuals were transported to local hospitals with serious injuries.
Emergency response teams, including the Jefferson City Fire Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol, were on the scene to assist and conduct an investigation. Several lanes of Highway 63 were closed for several hours as authorities worked to clear the wreckage and analyze the situation.
