Man Charged After Drunk Driving Crash Leaves Woman Seriously Injured
A man has been charged following a crash that seriously injured a woman in Maries County on Saturday, June 13, at 8:20 p.m.
The incident occurred in the 14000 block of Highway 133, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol's report. A 2020 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 60-year-old Donald Clampett, veered off the road, struck a culvert, and became airborne.
The truck came to rest in a ditch, facing west. A female passenger sustained serious injuries and was transported to Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City for treatment.
Clampett has been charged with a felony count of DWI – Serious Physical Injury and a misdemeanor count of Operating a Motor Vehicle in a Careless and Imprudent Manner, Involving an Accident. He was released on bond from the Maries County Jail.
Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
