SLIDELL, La. — A truck driver is hospitalized in critical condition following a crash early Sunday morning.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:17 a.m. near Kirby's Curve on the I-12 East to I-59 North Ramp (exit 85B). According to the St. Tammany Fire Department, a semi-truck left the roadway, resulting in the vehicle ending up in the woods.
Emergency responders extricated the driver and transported them via air medical services to University Medical Center (UMC) for treatment. No additional information regarding the driver or the circumstances of the crash has been released at this time.
The scene remains under investigation.
