JOHNSTON, R.I. (WJAR) — A 19-year-old was arrested early Sunday morning following a crash on Greenville Avenue that left a utility pole damaged.
Authorities said the incident occurred at approximately 2 a.m. when Elvis Goins allegedly lost control of his vehicle, causing it to roll over after striking the pole.
Officers reported that Goins displayed multiple signs of impairment at the scene. He was subsequently transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Goins faces charges of driving under the influence and refusal to submit to a chemical test. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and authorities did not provide information on any additional injuries.
