Fatal Crash Closes Highway 55 in Minneapolis
Minneapolis, MN — A fatal crash has closed a section of Highway 55 at Penn Avenue and Olson Memorial Highway as of 9 a.m. on September 4, 2025.
According to the Minnesota Department of Transportation, the closure affects the area between Theodore Wirth Parkway and North Morgan Avenue and is expected to last several hours.
Emergency responders on the scene reported two vehicles involved in the crash: one overturned and covered with a tarp, and another with significant front-end damage. Minneapolis Police, the State Patrol, and a coroner were called to the scene.
