HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — Deputies performed life-saving measures on an unresponsive driver during a crash response on I-4 in Hillsborough County Wednesday, authorities said.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, a deputy stopped to check on people involved in a crash on I-4 and was directed to a woman unconscious behind the wheel.
Authorities said the woman was not breathing and did not have a pulse.
A second deputy arrived moments later and assisted. Deputies removed the woman from the vehicle, began CPR, and deployed a defibrillator, according to the Sheriff's Office.
Deputies continued care until Fire Rescue crews arrived and took over medical treatment. The woman was transported to a nearby hospital and is in stable condition, authorities said.
No additional details about the crash were released.
