Friends honor UMass Lowell student from Gahanna killed in holiday weekend crash.

MADISON COUNTY, Ohio — A 21-year-old Gahanna man was killed early Saturday in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 71 near West Jefferson.

According to charging documents and the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a semi-trailer rear-ended a passenger , breached a cable median barrier, and crossed into the northbound lanes of I-71.

Authorities identified the driver as Tobias Forsythe, 21. He was after the crash.

The semi-trailer driver, Bekhzod Asrarov, 42, was charged with tampering with evidence after troopers said he removed a truck dashcam; troopers recovered the device from his right pocket.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating. No additional details on lane closures or tows were released.
