MADISON, Miss. — A child was killed in a head-on collision in Madison County Saturday evening.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) reported the crash occurred on Highway 22 at approximately 6:45 p.m. Two vehicles were involved in the incident.
According to authorities, Brittany Mack, 29, of Canton, was driving with her four young children. One child was pronounced dead at the scene. Mack and her three surviving children were taken to the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) for treatment, with one child requiring airlift to the hospital.
The driver of the second vehicle, identified as Mondoa Hervey, 31, from Tallahassee, Florida, was also transported to UMMC.
MHP is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
