CRANSTON, R.I. (WJAR) — A motorcycle crash on Niantic Avenue resulted in the death of a West Warwick man on Monday night.
According to police, officers responded to the scene at 9:27 p.m. for a report of an accident involving a motorcycle. The driver, identified as 44-year-old Kou Lee, was transported to Rhode Island Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities stated that Lee was traveling southbound at a high rate of speed when he lost control on a left-hand curve, striking the curb and colliding with a utility pole near a parking lot. Officials confirmed that Lee was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash but was ejected from the motorcycle.
Cranston Police are currently reviewing surveillance footage from nearby businesses to determine if speed, impairment, or other factors contributed to the incident. The investigation remains ongoing.
