A 29-year-old woman died in a head-on crash on State Route 177 in Hanover Township early Thursday, June 4.
Deputies were dispatched at 6:52 a.m. to State Route 177 just south of Vizedom Road, according to a release from the Butler County Sheriff's Office.
A preliminary investigation found a northbound 2011 Kia Soul crossed left of center and struck a 2011 Jeep Cherokee head-on. Both vehicles sustained extensive front-end damage, authorities said.
The Jeep's driver, a 20-year-old man, received treatment at a local hospital, according to the release.
The Kia's driver, a 29-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Butler County Coroner's Office has not released her identity.
The Sheriff's Office Serious Crash Reconstruction Team responded to conduct a detailed investigation. Authorities said the investigation is ongoing.
