Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle in Downtown Incident
DOWNTOWN — A man was struck by a Ford F-350 while crossing the street at 2:41 p.m. on Thursday.
According to the Police Department, the pedestrian, age unknown, exited the sidewalk before the collision. Emergency responders arrived on the scene promptly and provided medical aid. The man sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Authorities said the driver of the Ford F-350 remained on the scene and cooperated with investigators. Initial reports indicate that speed and alcohol were not factors in the incident.
Witnesses reported that the streets were busy at the time of the collision, leading to potential congestion. Traffic was temporarily diverted as officers conducted the accident investigation, which is ongoing.
No additional injuries were reported, and the roadway was reopened approximately an hour later following the investigation.
