WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — A 17-year-old passenger was killed Tuesday afternoon following a three-vehicle collision on Summit Boulevard, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

The incident occurred around 1:33 p.m. in the 5500 block of Summit Boulevard, involving a , a dump truck, and a 2001 Yukon.

Authorities reported that the eastbound 2021 Model 3 was in the left lane when a dump truck in the right lane began to turn south down a canal bank, encroaching into both lanes.

Witnesses said the Tesla driver did not slow down in time, resulting in a collision with the dump truck's left rear. The impact redirected the Tesla into the westbound lanes, where it struck the Yukon.

The drivers of the Tesla and Yukon sustained minor injuries, while the dump truck driver was uninjured. Emergency responders were on the scene to assist.

As of now, authorities are investigating the circumstances leading to the crash, and lane closures were implemented to clear the area.
