Reform Man Killed in Pickens County Crash.

A Reform man was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Pickens County on May 11, authorities said.

Christopher S. Byrd, 33, died after his 2011 Silverado collided head-on with a 1994 Peterbilt tractor-trailer at approximately 4:20 p.m., according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency. Byrd was from the truck and was not wearing a seat belt. He was at the scene.

The tractor-trailer was driven by 57-year-old Claude W. Robinson, also of Reform. Robinson sustained injuries and was transported to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle in Columbus, Mississippi, for treatment.

The crash occurred on Alabama 17 near the 217-mile marker, approximately six miles north of Reform. Troopers from ALEA's Highway Patrol Division are investigating the incident. No additional details have been released.
