A Columbus family filed suit May 8 in Franklin County Common Pleas Court, alleging a police officer caused a preventable crash nearly two years ago.
According to the complaint, Bridgett McKinnon, 49, suffered permanent neurological damage from the crash.
The lawsuit names the City of Columbus and Columbus Police Officer Kurt Jacobs as defendants.
According to the filing, McKinnon, her husband, Nakia Cartharn, and the couple's 12-year-old son are plaintiffs.
