INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, Fla. — An Indian River County Sheriff's deputy was hospitalized Friday morning following a two-vehicle crash at 7:41 a.m.
Deputy D. Hoffman reported the incident at the intersection of Oslo Road and 58th Avenue SW. Multiple 911 calls were received regarding the collision.
The deputy was transported to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center under a trauma alert and is currently in stable condition. The other driver involved sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities closed the intersection for approximately one hour to facilitate emergency response and investigation. The roadway has since reopened to traffic.
The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Indian River County Sheriff's Office, with preliminary findings indicating Hoffman was not at fault.
