Two Killed in Lisbon Accident on U.S. Route 30 

Lisbon, Ohio – Two people died following a tragic that occurred on U.S. Route 30 near State Route 172 in Columbiana County on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the highway patrol, a 2006 Chevrolet C5 tow truck was heading west on U.S. 30 when it collided head-on with an oncoming 2014 GMC Sierra.

Authorities said the Sierra drifted across the centerline, leading to the crash at around 4:20 p.m. April 7.

The two occupants of the Sierra were not wearing their seatbelts, and both died at the scene. Their identities were not released.

Ernest L. Nicholson IV, 36, of Washingtonville, who was driving the tow truck, was transported to Mercy Health Center in Youngstown with serious injuries.

A passenger in the tow truck, Nicholas D. Gardner, 21, of Minerva, sustained minor injuries but was not taken to the hospital.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
