NTSB Releases Video of Fatal UPS Jet Crash in Louisville
LOUISVILLE, KY – The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) released video footage showing the left engine of a UPS jet separating during takeoff on November 3, 2025.
The incident occurred at approximately 2:41 p.m. at Louisville International Airport. The Boeing 747 was en route to a distribution center when it experienced mechanical failure shortly after liftoff. The aircraft crashed into a warehouse, resulting in the deaths of 14 individuals, including three ground personnel.
According to authorities, first responders from the Louisville Fire Department and local police arrived on the scene within minutes. Emergency medical personnel treated several workers suffering from injuries related to the crash. At least five people were transported to local hospitals, with two in critical condition.
Witnesses reported seeing the aircraft struggle to gain altitude before it went down. Lane closures were implemented on nearby access roads as emergency crews worked to secure the site and conduct an initial investigation.
