AURORA, CO – A three-vehicle crash on northbound Interstate 25 resulted in one fatality on Friday afternoon, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
Emergency crews responded to the incident near Happy Canyon Road in Douglas County at 1:23 p.m. The crash involved a white Audi Q5, a blue Toyota Highlander, and a gray Chevrolet Equinox. The driver of the Equinox, a 31-year-old Aurora man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Highlander's driver, a 58-year-old woman from Castle Pines, was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.
As a result of the crash, northbound I-25 remains closed between exit 182 for Wilcox Street and exit 188 for Castle Pines Parkway. Officials state the closure will be in effect “for an extended period.” Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes.
