CEMETERY DAMAGE AT MOUNT HOLLY
A vehicle crashed into the wall of Mount Holly Cemetery in Little Rock on Tuesday evening, causing significant structural damage.
At approximately 5:11 p.m., a Ford Fiesta traveling at a high speed on Arch Street collided with a 20-foot section of the cemetery's stone wall. The driver fled the scene on foot, while a 54-year-old woman from Little Rock was found in the passenger seat with critical injuries. She is currently hospitalized at UAMS.
Repairs to the damaged wall are estimated to cost thousands of dollars. The Mount Holly Cemetery Association has canceled its major fundraising events this year, including the annual Spring Picnic and Tales of the Crypt, due to the ongoing pandemic. Donations to assist with repair costs can be made through the cemetery's website at www.mounthollycemetery.org.
According to police, details surrounding the incident remain unclear as the investigation continues.
