Woman killed, three injured in multi-vehicle crash in Nebraska.

NELSON, Neb. — A crash on Highway 14, two miles south of Nelson, resulted in one fatality and three injuries on Tuesday evening.

According to the Nuckolls County 911 center, the incident was reported around 6:32 p.m. Emergency responders arrived to find a white F150, a white Dodge Grand Caravan, and a gray Ford Explorer involved in the collision. The F150, which had one occupant, was found off the shoulder of the northbound lane. The Grand Caravan occupied the southbound lane, facing northwest. Both vehicles exhibited significant damage.

Emergency crews from the Nelson Volunteer Fire Department, Nelson Rescue Squad, and Superior Rescue Squad worked to free the two occupants of the Grand Caravan, who were subsequently transported to Brodstone Memorial Hospital and later to Bryan West in Lincoln, Nebraska. Another victim, discovered in the Ford Explorer approximately twenty feet down a ditch, was treated at Brodstone Memorial Hospital and later released.

The Nuckolls County Sheriff's Department, assisted by the Nebraska State Patrol, is investigating the crash. The Nuckolls County Attorney's Office expressed condolences to the victims' families and appreciated the professionalism of first responders.
