KALISPELL, Mont. — One person is dead and another injured following a one-vehicle crash in Kalispell on Monday night.
A Jeep Liberty was traveling south on Trumble Creek Road near Birch Grove Road when the driver lost control at approximately 9:17 p.m.
The vehicle crossed the centerline, exited the roadway, entered a ditch, and collided with a tree after going airborne.
The driver, a 55-year-old man from Kalispell, sustained injuries and was taken to Logan Health Kalispell for treatment.
The passenger, a 40-year-old woman from Kalispell, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities indicated that alcohol and drugs are suspected as contributing factors in the crash. The investigation is ongoing, with Montana Highway Patrol handling the case.
