Cincinnati construction zone crash kills driver

One person died after a crash about 8:24 p.m. Monday in a on Harrison Avenue in South Fairmount, Cincinnati.

According to the Cincinnati Police Department, officers were dispatched to 1667 Harrison Ave. and found a inside the active construction area.

Police said the driver crossed past a digital traffic sign and cones for a temporary lane, entered an open hole, and struck raised concrete.

The driver was at the scene. No other vehicles were involved, authorities said.

Police have not released the victim's identity and continue to investigate the crash.
