XENIA, Ohio — A 23-year-old driver pleaded guilty in connection with an Oct. 29, 2025, crash that killed an 18-year-old.
According to the Greene County Prosecutor's Office, Adrian Hernandez, 23, pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicular homicide and OVI and faces up to 11 years in prison.
Authorities said the single-vehicle crash occurred around 1 a.m. Oct. 29, 2025, in the 1100 block of Bellbrook Avenue when Hernandez's car struck a tree and parked vehicles.
Investigators said Hernandez was driving 120 mph in a 35 mph zone. He and passenger Ashton Evans, 18, were ejected.
According to the Xenia Police Department, officers and emergency crews provided medical aid at the scene and took both to a hospital; Evans died from his injuries. Authorities said Hernandez was initially in critical condition and was later released after surgeries.
Prosecutors said toxicology results showed Hernandez's blood alcohol content was 2.5 times Ohio's legal limit.
According to the Prosecutor's Office, final disposition is set for June 10, when Hernandez also faces a potential lifetime driver's license suspension and a $20,000 fine.
