Daleville crash kills one, injures another; driver charged with DUI.

DALEVILLE, Ind. — A Daleville man was arrested Friday evening for allegedly driving under the influence and causing a fatal crash involving two motorcycles at the intersection of West Main Street and South Walnut Street.

According to police, 58-year-old Monte Antrim is facing multiple charges, including two counts of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated (OWI) resulting in death or catastrophic injury, OWI endangering a person, and disregarding a traffic control device.

Officers responded to the scene around 10 p.m. and found one motorcyclist unresponsive in the roadway; that individual was later . The second motorcyclist was conscious but suffered a broken leg.

Antrim, who was uninjured, displayed signs of intoxication, prompting field sobriety tests by law enforcement, which indicated alcohol on his breath. He recorded a blood alcohol content of .196 on a Preliminary Breath Test. Authorities are awaiting results from a standard blood draw.

Antrim is currently being held at the Delaware County Jail.
