DALLAS COUNTY, Ala. (WAKA) – A single-car crash early Saturday morning killed a Uniontown woman and injured two others.
According to Alabama State Troopers, the incident occurred around 3:50 a.m. on U.S. Highway 80, approximately eight miles west of Selma. Investigators stated that 43-year-old Kimeia Bennett was a passenger in the vehicle, which left the roadway, struck a guardrail, and overturned. Bennett was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the car; she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, 25-year-old Keshaun Jones of Uniontown, and another passenger, 35-year-old Kanisha Bennett of Tuscaloosa, sustained injuries and were transported to Vaughan Regional Medical Center in Selma for treatment.
Authorities have initiated an investigation into the accident.
