Multiple Vehicle Collision in Downtown Kansas City Leaves One Dead
KANSAS CITY, MO — A fatal collision involving four vehicles occurred on Main Street near 12th Street around 2:41 p.m. on October 14, 2023.
According to the Kansas City Police Department, the crash resulted in the death of one individual at the scene. Five others were transported to local hospitals for treatment of various injuries.
Emergency responders, including the Kansas City Fire Department, arrived promptly to provide medical aid and assess the situation. Authorities reported that two of the vehicles were significantly damaged, requiring towing from the scene.
Main Street was closed in both directions for several hours as the investigation continued. Preliminary details indicate that speed may have been a factor, though the investigation is ongoing.
