A semi-truck and box truck collided on I-70 east near the I-270 interchange in Columbus at 7:09 a.m. on Aug. 19, leaving one person injured.
The crash resulted in battery acid spilling onto the roadway, prompting a hazmat response from local agencies. Paramedics transported the injured individual to Ohio State East Hospital in stable condition, according to a Columbus Police dispatcher.
All eastbound lanes of I-70 were closed near I-270, leading to significant traffic disruptions, as reported by the Ohio Department of Transportation's live traffic map.
